My name is Heather Kirchhoff. I am a 24 year old, natural light photographer in the Concordia, Marshall, and Carrollton area. I specialize in Band promotional shoots and concerts, Couples, Senior and Model sessions.
My passion for photography started in 2007 during my senior year in high school. Independent study, film photography was the best thing ever. My teacher and inspiration, Wendy Utterback, allowed me to use her personal camera to begin my journey in changing my life.
I photographed the small details of nature and the large aspects of the Kentucky and Tennessee landscapes for a few year. I then moved to Manhattan, KS in 2009. The following year, I found an amazing group of photographers. In this group, I found my best friend and mentor, Terry Szel, of Szel Photography, and gained a new passion for portrait photography. I had the pleasure of tagging along with him on several shoots as well as attending several workshops and group shoots with him and several other photographers in the area. I have gained so much knowledge from Terry in the past two years of friendship. I owe him a huge thank you for helping me get to where I am now. I also had the opportunity to second shoot a couple weddings with Amanda Bullock, of A.Staats Photography; Jamie Delaney, of Jamie K! Photography and have attended several workshops lead by Chris Hsieh, of La Brisa Photography.
In 2011, I relocated to my hometown of Concordia, Missouri and had to start over. I was then re-introduced to the local music scene in my area. In this time, I have had the pleasure of photographing several local music concerts as well as a few promotional images for a few of the bands.
I have recently been published on the VFW website, vfw.org; in The Hype Weekly, a magazine out of Manhattan, KS; had a booth at the 5th Annual Showoff, presented by the Concordia Heritage Society in Concordia, Missouri and was showcased at the April 24, 2013 Raw Artists Showcase in Kansas City, Missouri.
